SOLD Have(had) a complete original 28 spl. 3:90 geared rear.Unfortunately the left wheel bearing spun in the tube,so I'm offering the #588 posi unit and the OEM 3:90 gears.I disassembled the posi unit for inspection(don't want to sell someone junk)It was in very nice used condition; diff bearing hubs nice,bores in the posi case where the side gears engage are nice,clutch ears have not cut into the case,internal gears nice,clutches nice.Tomorrow I will reassemble it with 80/90 oil with additive in it.You will notice in one pic machined shims installed,so using a feeler guage I can adjust the clutch plates with shims to achieve that clutch packs are exact in height in relationship to the cross shaft.I do this with all posi units even new ones because I've seen them as far off as .025".This causes the spider gears to lean on the cross shaft diminishing the power the posi can tolerate before grenading the internal gears.Ring and pinion are really nice as well.Posi & gears $750.00 plus ship.Cobleskill NY 12043 518-234-2480 EST.
