Paint tips for plastic pieces on 72 front end

What procedure would be used when painting lacquer on the plastic front filler pieces on a 1972 Cutlass. Some are original and others new probably reproduction pieces. They are the headlight trim pieces and the filler panel between them with the nose section. I've seen online that they could be scuffed up, primed and the painted with lacquer but would like other opinions.

I just cleaned, primed, and painted. I used the same acrylic enamel as the rest of the car, though.

Every auto paint manufacturer publishes tech manuals that tell you EXACTLY how to prep surfaces and what materials to use. If your paint manufacturer of choice recommends an adhesion promoter, use it. Read the instructions for your specific paint products. Crowdsourcing answers on the web probably isn't your best choice.

Looked at the tech sheets that I got maybe 20 years ago for the Duracryl lacquer and the KONDAR lacquer primer and I see nothing stating prep for the paint or primer over plastic. I will most likely clean the parts with Dawn, scuff up the surface lightly, dry well then a quick wipe down with lacquer thinner on a rag, When the parts are dry, quick wipe with a tack rag and then a light coat of the KONDAR and the color!
