Suggestions Needed
Suggestions Needed
Early in 2014 I want to have my 87 Olds 442 painted & I am looking for suggestions & pictures for possible paint schemes.
This car was a theft recovery 15 years ago. Although originally painted Burgundy over silver with the gold stripe package it was repainted in monotone burgundy and a subtle silver pinstripe was applied (all by previous owner). The hood is still in flat black primer & car has some door dents. The current paint is not salvageable but mercifully the car is 100% rust free.
I will not paint the car back to the factory appearance as I do not want that look. Currently I am considering two possible paint schemes; reshoot the monotone & apply the factory stripes OR leave off the stripes & paint it a two tone dominated by the burgundy. Possible 2nd colors are black, black cherry, gold or silver. Open to others.
Looking for others to post suggestions & pics of possible paint schemes. This is a hot rod cruiser that I take to the track & beat on & I want a paint scheme that will be attractive but not goofy.
The car sports a 4" fiberglass cowl hood, has deep tinted rear & rear side window & rolls on Convo Pro rims. The interior is mostly stock burgundy. A few pics below to show you what I am starting with.
Help me out! Anybody handy with photo shop to give a sense of how a 2 tone pant scheme might look?
Thanks in advance.

A Little More Class than Sportman
Dave:
As you know Cutlass's are classy cars. IMHO this would be nice black with a black vinyl roof and nice silver pin striping. Also, all the appropriate chrome trims need to be added.
