New member here since I just inherited a 1948 Deluxe 66 Woody Wagon. Restoring it from frame up.

Not sure if I should post the question on engine paint here or in Engine forum. The woody has the inline 6 cyclinder. Trying to research the original engine block color (and the original transmission color for the Hydromatic as well).

Any help would be appreciated!

 

Bill Hirsch has the engine paint that you want. The Hydromatic Transmission was also the same color as the engine (green).

The Intake manifold was same color as the engine.

The exhaust manifold was almost a chevy orange. The exhaust manifold (when looked at by many inexperienced judges) will say that it is supposed to be cast iron grey, and will sometimes mistakenly "doc" you points. So here go with what suits you, cast iron (common) or orange (correct).

The Firewall is vehicle body color.

The inner fender skin and cooling fan are a satin black.

Starter, Generator, and bracketry are semi-gloss black

Fan belt and hoses were solid (not ribbed) with part numbers stamped on them.

Hose clamps on the big hoses were a wire clamp. The heater hose clamps were a flat wire clamp. At some shows they will doc you for not having matching hose clamps. In reality, they didn't match 'cause quite often they were dealer installed accessories (be it the dual Flow heater or the Conditioned Air Unit.)
