Nailing down Crimson Red
Newbie Alert! I am new here and hope I'm doing this correctly.
After losing my wife's original 1969 Crimson 442 convertible, I have found another and am closing in on my redemption. However the red sample I saw is more orangey - isn't the same deep red I remember hers having. Cowl Tag states 52 for the Paint Code which is the Crimson, but can anyone tell me if there is a way to determine which paint manufacturer supplied the Crimson Red 52 for Oldsmobile 442's and the White Hood Stripes?
Any guidance very much appreciated.
Thanks.

See if there is an area of original paint in the trunk or under the carpet, and have a paint shop use a spectrometer on it to get the correct shade. Your painter should be able to get a match from this chart.
