Kicker panel color. Any ideas?

I'm getting new kicker panels with 6.5" speakers installed to replace these kicker panels. Please excuse the unsightliness, the speakers I got originally didn't come with grills and couldn't hide my mistakes.

Anyway.... Anyone know what color this is? Or, to be more accurate, what color I will need to get to match this color? I'd like to get it as close as possible, but if not, anyone who has this dash/trim color combo, if they would like to present their ideas or pictures, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know that "What color is this?" threads are usually hit or miss, but I truly would appreciate it if anyone can point me in the right direction. So far, I've had no luck at the auto parts stores with Duplicolor or their minimal selection of Krylon. And they even let me walk out to the car to match the cap, but as we all probably know, the cap isn't always supremely accurate.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not finding the reference book I need, so this reply will bring your message back to the top. Hopefully someone else can help with what kind of gold paint would be close to the factory color.

Give us more pictures to evaluate, but I know I've seen a gold interior in 1969 and 70's that looked similar to your picture.

These are really the best pics I could get without setting up lighting under there and all. Lol.

It just doesn't look "gold" to me. I guess maybe some kind of dark gold or something. I don't know. I guess I'll have a look at some of those.

The trim tag located on the firewall will tell what the factory colors would have been, both exterior paint and interior color too. I'm thinking the dash, door panels, seats, etc. should all be the same color if its still the same as what came from the factory.

Arrowstorm , they made two colors of saddle interior trim on 1972 Cutlass, and judging from the carpet color it may be one of those. If any of the auto parts or paint stores near can mix SEM interior colors for vinyl and plastic, just take your kick panel by and they can mix it to match. Larry

Thanks! I didn't know about the trim tag. Never even noticed it! I have just researched it a little bit and will check that out. Hopefully, I will be able to get some more accurate info from there. Thanks again!

I didn't even know that tag was there. Thanks.

The "TR" code is 944. So I googled that and the only reference I found to "72 Cutlass Cowl tag 944" was actually a post on this very sight mentioning that 944=Willow Gold.

So I googled that and came up with GM color code WA3720, which by samples pictured kind of looks like my color, but is also designated specifically to be an exterior paint.

Naturally, I can't find a store-bought spray color anywhere close to willow gold or sold as a replacement of WA3720. I did find a site that mixes auto touch up color.. and am considering buying from them, though it's rather pricey. Automotivetoucheup.com

SO glad kicker panels aren't difficult to remove/replace, because those things are supposed to be delivered today and I can't wait to install them, and I definitely can't wait a week or so more before I can get the paint!

So in conclusion, the trim color is indicated as 944, which I believe to be Willow Gold, GM color code WA3720.

If anyone has any idea which Duplicolor color is a very good match to this, that would be appreciated. $7.99 at the auto parts store for a good match IS satisfactory, as opposed to $30 for a pretty good match from a website.
