House of Kolor, anyone buy from them recently?

Planning out the body work and paint for the wagon, and was wondering has anyone sprayed their product recently?

If so a couple of questions:

1. Is this stuff relatively easy to shoot?
2. Should I use a different brand of clear? Been hearing rumors it's best to clear coat with a PPG brand clear.
3. Can you buy their paint directly from their website?

Thanks.

I met jon kozmoski about 7 years ago in a paint class seen him demo the stuff seemed pretty easy to use. I havent used it myself. I know its expensive.

As far as clear coat define best. I have sprayed lots of differnt clear coats and its all technique. Some clears are better then others. I know shopline/omni clears got a bad rep for peeling but all the salesman and tech people i have talked to say its thin and to put another coat on.

I personally like nason 465-00 clear it seems thicker sprays nice and its around $100 a gallon plus activator and reducer.

It's no where near as expensive as Deltron or PPG by a long ways for sure. About 400 bucks per gallon cheaper!

Sprayed a 79 camaro with sunset candy orange had nothing but problems with it lifting over the base. Called HoC and they did send new midcoat. ended up putting on ppg white base then midcoat, no problems.. I can say ive never had problems with ppg.. IMO you get what you pay for..

Was it catalyzing improperly with the primer you were using?

I've heard that HOK has really good customer service. I have to say that I really like their color choices. When you say it was lifting off the base, you're talking about the primer coat right?
