Hood Stripe Set

I'm looking for a decal or stencil set for my 1969 442/ ram air hood). I can't find them but I'm sure they make them.

Thanks

Do you mean a 70 ram air style hood on your 69? Or the stock double hump hood on a ram air 69 with scoops under the bumper?

If you need striping for the fiberglass 70 style ram air scooped hood, try here. They seem to have stencils or black/matte black/white striping as well.

1970-72 W-30 & W-31 Oldsmobile paint stencil / stripe kit (stencilsandstripes.com)

You can use the same place as they also sell the wide stripe kit on the hood bumps on the 69 steel hood, either white or black striping or the stencil.

Personally, I wouldn't use the trunk stripe on the 69 kit at all. Those belong on Chevelles.

Trunk stripe kit? They sell a trunk stripe kit??? That explains why every Faux-Four-Two has them now.

Definitely no trunk stripes for me! I have a 69 with the stock 'flat hood'. Was there a ram air hood that year? Is it a lot to put a '70 hood on with the trim still lining up in front?
Thanks
Maybe I need a stencil kit and I'll paint them on. The car will be white so I think gold stripes would look good. Maybe an 'Olds gold's type shade?

I'm glad I know that now? I'm probably going to sell that and get a snorkel/ram air style...do they make one for the 69? What do double hump hoods go for?

Thanks

Good 1969 hoods are actually in demand. People have put the 1970 hood on the 1969 cars. I personally don't think it looks right, but that's a personal taste issue.

Do you think this would line up? I'll delete the latch and just use the pins....a bit pricey

The pins alone probably won't hold it. Since this is obviously not a factory-correct restoration, consider an all-fiberglass repro. It will be significantly less expensive. VFN Fiberglass and Showcars Bodyparts sell them.

My biggest concern is the trim on the grill lining up with the hood trim.is it really involved to make the OEM latch work with one? Thanks Joe

Use the 1969 hood tooth and trim. The stock latch either requires the core support to be swapped or modified to match a 70 or the underside of the metal hood frame to be modified to match a 69.

I'll yank the 'tooth' on my current hood. The front clip is off right now. Is it easier to swap in a new core support or mod the one I have?

PHOENIX GRAPHIX has many Olds strips. Which ever hood you decide to use.
Personally Id rather see the W30,31,32 scoops under the bumper on a 68 69.
