Epoxy Primer

I bought a car a few years back, the person I bought it from stripped it to bare metal, and coated it with Eastwood After Blast Metal Prep, it has been this way (bare metal ) since I bought it,and has 0 surface rust. Well I want to put epoxy primer on it. Do I need to do anything special to the metal before primer? It has some primer here and there, maybe from a can, should I sand this down before coating it with epoxy? I know two years later, and it looks the same, life got in the way.

I'm no expert on automotive finishes or primers but in the architectural coatings world I would wash the spot primer with a hot solvent (lacquer thinner or automotive reducer) and see if it lifts. If any at all dissolves, bubbles or lifts a seal coat or removal will be necessary.....Just my experience... Tedd

i would be worried about the bare bondo.it likes moisture.i myself would take it all out and start from scratch.also from what i have seen it seems the vinyl top cars had lead in the roof seam and the painted tops had bondo,i suppose to combat moisture under the top.whether this is the norm i couldn't say,but being exposed to the elements i would be worried about it.as far as the bare steel i would take lacquer thinner to it and then sand it.
