Eventually at somepoint when I replace some of the parts and get the seat reupholstered, I would like to repaint this. Any color suggestions you think would look good on this?

It was originally red to begin with, but was painted blue. also, it needs a new cloth top for the roof, will be black like it was originally with this '72 Cutlass

 

Colors are personal, so what ever color suites you.

 

IMO it depends on whether you want the color to match the cowl tag info. I'm partial to silver / black vinyl myself. Looks like there's not any significant bubbling from where the vinyl used to be - that's always a good sign. How's the rest of the body?

Like Eric says ^^, it should be a choice that you will be happy with. I had one of these with code 75 (Matador Red) and it was stunning - especially in the sun.

 

If it is a 442 or Hurst or #matching low mile car , I would stick to original colour . Do you know the paint code? Do you know any history of the car or do you have any documentation on it? Other than that your options are endless. Look at lots of pics on this forum and you will get lots of good ideas. Cheers.

 

JMO but I like the color blue it is now with a black top, plus if your jambs are in good shape you can save a bit on the respray.

 

My vote is also for blue, but like everyone else says... its your car
