'68 442 Front Hub fitment/X-ref questions

Hi all,
I've a predicament that I'm hoping the Collective can help with. After refreshing, I'm beginning to rebuild my front suspension/steering/brakes, etc. I see that my two front hubs look exactly alike as far as design, but they carry different part number castings. In reviewing both the WAC online Parts Manuals for 1968, as well as my own hardcopy, the numbers I have do not match up with those in the reference material. Because mine, as well as each reference source, states different PNs for Left VS. Right, I assume I need to place them correctly. True? The five "large" numbers on each match - 35734 R. However a sixth smaller/stand alone number is different on each - one has "8" and the other "7". You will note different casting dates, as well, in the pic below.

Next question - does anyone know which of mine goes to which side? I checked my parts interchange book, but it does not mention the hub; only the spindles and attaching steering arms. Unfortunately my pictures of the tear-down do not clearly show. I think I can make out the "8" on the drum/hub that came from the driver's side, but that may well be my imagination.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Further info just noticed: The seals I got from Rock Auto (7607 and 8594S) for the 442's hubs do not fit the hubs I have . There is no way the 8594S' will fit - they are too big in diameter. I'm beginning to think these hubs are from a different GM company. The bearings seem to fit OK, but they have not yet been pressed in, so the jury is still somewhat out on that aspect.

DOH! The 8594S' are for the back axle shafts! :-) But I have a new situation and thread on one of the hubs, and seal.
