1980 Oldmobile Cutlass RMO Special Edition
#1
Hello. Can anyone get me or tell me where to find information on an Oldsmobile Cutlass that has RMO Special Edition emblems on it. It has a half top, but its stainless steel not cloth or whatever. It is silver and black with all black vinyl interior... I have searched and searched... I need to know the origin of my car. Thanks.

From what I can find, RMO stood for "Reliable Men of Olds" or "Royal Men of Olds" (depending on the year) and was sold by dealers in the Cincinnati area.
It was a "factory special edition" that was packaged for sale under different names throughout the US. The same car was also called a GCSX (Greater Cleveland Special Edition), BMO (Bold Men of Olds, Dallas), Silver Bullet (Des Moines), and like that.
For more info, check with with Ed Stanchak at the GM History Center.

I just found that out from Googling.
You could also contact the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America.

If they are anything like our South Texas Oldsmobile Club, they will be a great resource and a fun bunch of folks to cruise and shine and show with.
Congratulations on owning a special edition and good luck!
