AC O-Rings Question
AC O-Rings Question
I have replaced my evap coil and am wondering if the O-rings are special or just ordinary? I have heard something about green o-rings possibly being better. Also wondering where they can be purchased if I go that route.
thanks,
Steve

I like to buy bundles from companies like Cold Hose when buying other stuff. That way I know they're the right size and most likely work. Even then, sometimes I have to futz around with different thicknesses to get a good seal.
You can get generic assortments from Amazon. Most of the assortments that I've seen are metric. They are close enough, but it's annoying.
Note that old style A/C uses a number notation (#6, #8, #10) for hose and fitting size. This is NOT the same as AN Dash sizes, but same concept.
It's a good idea to lube the o-rings with the appropriate a/c oil or a tacky a/c assembly lube.
