I don't know one way or the other - so just asking here: Aren't all the roof drip rails chrome from the factory? On this one they are painted body color.
When you hijack a post, you need to have some semblance of connection with the original subject. Then you can pretend you are carrying on the original intent.
Starting an entirely new subject is about four steps beyond hijacking. This deserves public humiliation, rather than deserving an answer.
I assume you are pointing your "public humiliation" at me, VC. Apologies if you were offended. I guess you saw my tangent as a hijack. I noticed that the drip rails on the car being talked about were body color. I had never seen that before and simply commented, open-ended-like.

The title of the original thread was about muffler hangers, not the green car, though to be honest, I'm not sure if Chris was further dissing that car or really asking about the hangers. In any case, I moved these posts to a new thread, as it is a valid question. To expand on the answer, F-85s were the bottom-of-the-line loss leader, so in base configuration, they got none of the shiny trim. The stainless simply snaps over the painted drip rails, however, according to the 1969 SPECS booklet, the only way to get the drip rail moldings on an F-85 was with the vinyl top - since the moldings held the sides of the vinyl down. The drip rail moldings were RPO B80, available on the Cutlass and standard on the Cutlass S, Supreme, and 442 Holiday and Sport Coupes.
One other point of note, re roof drip moldings. They are 3 piece. That means you'd have to remove the 45° angle filler connection from the existing roof channel on the body so the stainless (not chrome) pieces can be joined properly by the stainless connector.
This example for the fastback (3687) style car. They are re-popped now and available from vendors.
