My 1978 Starfire makes a "gurgling" noise in the vicinity of the heater box when I step down on the accelerator hard. I've never heard this type of noise before, has anyone else known of this or might want to hazard a guess as to what might be causing it?

Air in the cooling system? Debris clogging the heater core? Partly stuck heater control valve?
