ive read about it .but what vehicle do i find this aluminum 5.0 out of? i have a 61 f85 would be nice to find one of these? any help .im also around the nh ma border

 

Where did you read about it? Oldsmobile had an aluminum 215 that would have been in your car, but that is only a 3.5. I've never heard of an aluminum 307. I know there are aluminum intakes available for the 307.

 

I believe you can bolt in a Buick 300 where the 215 sat, but the block is iron, not aluminum.

 

Oh, I get it now. You're talking about the Rover 5 liter. That was a British engine and they are probably very hard to find in the US.

If you are looking for a Rover motor, I would suggest that you go looking for wrecked Rovers. Start at local junkyards. Rover discussion groups could probably tell you which are most desirable and which to avoid.
