F-85 1963 Kick Panels?

As you know allready we do own that 1963 F-85 Convertible.I´m not shure if kick panels were mounted when the car left the factory. Both sides in the footwell got holes which seem to be made for speakers.I guess there is something missing because i can`t fix the speaker just in the carpet.
Any ideas ?
Thank you,Claudia&Martin

The holes were for vents that open with a lever, i removed the vent and out of sheet metal made a plate from the original cardboard piece that surrounds the vent and mounted 6x9s in that.

Good morning Skulass
Thank`s for that information. I will make the kick panels made of GRP.After shaping the cuved line from PU board as a negativ model it`s easy to mold the curved surface in GRP. So i wan`t get any angles.
For the moment the panels are simply made from corrugated cardboard sprayd in the cars colour. They will be there until the new ones have been placed.
The Olds is stored, the winter long.
Thank you again,Martin
