It says NOS, but doesn't really look it.

I think it's real. I had one of those once about 15 years ago, but the record cracked in half on me for no reason I could ever identify, so I couldn't listen to it. I just threw it away.

I actually have one already.... and I don't even have a turntable any more! Mine doesn't look quite as nice as this one, but I paid a little less than the $30 they're asking for this one.
(On a sadder note, I must admit I know most of those artists....)

I would definitely NOT call that one NOS. I have two of those. One is still in the unopened shrinkwrap. I don't know why I have them. I don't even own a 64. Well, yeah, I guess I do.......I refurbish the 68-72 2 **** 8 track players and like to provide an original Oldsmobile complimentary 8 track tape with the player when I sell one. So I started buying them when I came across them and wound up collecting every comp 8 track from 68-81 or so. I even have a few Olds comp casettes and dvd's. Since these albums were related to the collection and I got them cheap, I bought them.

That's not sad! Embrace your age! After all, what's the alternative?

There is nothing "Oldsmobile" about the content. Oldsmobile simply was the sponsor of a collection of songs. It was nothing more than advertising for Oldsmobile. Corporate sponsoring of albums like this was pretty common back then. Olds also did this one prior to this:

I have both of these.

Love that "age before beauty" thing....

Jes kidding, Jaunty ...
Really love that old music, too.... especially after catching barely a glimpse of the American Music Awards the other night.... and to think American music used to mean Gershwin and Copelin -- it sent a shiver clean up my spine .

They put record players in cars way back when too believe it or not. I remember an uncle having an old Chrysler with one.

It's actually for the 65 model year. Think it was released November or December 64.

You'll notice the 1958 record features Florence Henderson (yes, Mrs. Brady, who was reduced to driving Chrysler products in the show) as part of Oldsmobile's "Johnny and Lucille" advertising team. The Starfire Mafia knows the whereabouts of the specially trimmed 1961 Starfire Olds gave her as their spokesperson and she has authenticated it to a degree.

I have a pile of these Olds promo records and training records with accompanying filmstrips and a couple of filmstrip projectors for those. Also several of the radio ad jingle records and cassettes. The Jam Handy Organization produced most of the trainer and radio records.

You can find a decent phonograph on ebay or antique shops if you have these records and want to play them. I just finished reconditioning capacitors on a '59 Zenith Stereophonic portable last night. It needs a cartridge and a couple of tubes and will be ready to rock. Stylish in its bronze and cream cabinet, which incidentally is as big as a weekender suitcase.
