If (as i understand) 61 and 62 are similar if not the same you need to drill out the studs/rivets that fasten it to the lca. Also note in the manual there is a different method of inspecting them than conventional lbj's.

The lower ball joints on a 1962 Starfire are pressed into a short arm. The ball joint/ short arm assembly is bolted to the lower control arm. You buy the ball joint/ short arm as an assembly.
The upper ball joints are riveted in and the 1/4" rivets have to be drilled out. Use care, drill a small pilot hole in the center of the rivet head and then a 1/4" drill bit. Drill almost thru the head and the knock the head off with a chisel, the take a punch knock the ball joint out. If you try to drill the whole rivet out and miss the center of the rivet you'll drill in to the control arm.

AutoZone has the arm assembly, but $$$$$$! It looks like they also have just the ball joint. Probably wouldn't be a bad job if you've got the right equipment to press the ball joint out of and back in to the arm.
When I did mine all I could find at the time was the arm assembly.
