What do you use to clean the windows in your car?

I can never seem to get the haze or streaks off my windows. I use windex with paper towels. What do you recommend?
Thanks,
Fred

Try 1/4 cup White Vinegar in a gallon of warm water, then use newspapers to dry them instead of paper towels. Larry

Instead of paper towels use wadded up newspapers. I too laughed when I was first told to do so but it really does work well.

I just go over the glass with a dry micro fiber and that removes the haze. But the vingar and news paper works well. Mom taught me that lol.

What ever is handy and paper towels. There is nothing that works consistently depending on humidity and all the other variables. Sometimes certain stuff works well and other times it doesn't. Just do the best I can with what I have.

Invisible Glass and newspaper. Do not use the colored paper from the Sunday comics. Just use the black and white pages. You may want to use some rubber gloves since the print is going to get all over your hands. Of course it washes off easily.

After you make up the vinegar and water solution, are you spraying it on like any other glass cleaner then wiping with newspaper?
Thanks,
Fred

I use a few drops of dishwashing liquid in water in a spray bottle. If you're a smoker, pre-clean with 0000 steel wool.

X2 on the steel wool...just use the finest mesh wool. I also use newspaper and vinegar/water to really get it clean after a steel wool polish.
Vinegar and water is frugal and safe as well as having anti bacterial properties.

Check6,Yes just put the vinegar/warm water solution in a spray bottle, spray on glass, then wipe clean with a crumpled page of newspaper.May leave a little ink on your hands but it's easy to remove, and your windows will be streak free. Next time you use it ,just put spray bottle under hot water faucet long enough to warm the bottle back up. Works great. Larry

Lemon Pledge, apply with one micro fiber buff off with a new microfiber. The lemon cleans and the wax seems to fill scratches a bit (no miracles though). This works really well on bugs on your M/C windshield. No pre-soaking, no scratches on your plastic windshield.
I carry a can with me on my trips. Also seems to work like rain-x.

I use that S**T on everything! (Vinyl seats too!)

I use SprayWay with waffle towels. Nothing better and I've tried everything.

SprayWay if you can find it- not common here, the big names take up all the shelf space. Clean with that and a squeegee, then polish with newspaper as several have described.

Windex is an ammonia based cleaner and while it will cut grunge and film, it tends to leave streaks. An alcohol based window cleaner or just plain old vinegar water will cut the crud and not streak as bad. The squeegee doesn't leave many streaks either, just clumsy to use on inside window surfaces.

I used the newspaper trick once when I was 20, friend of mine suggested it. My Dad saw me doing it, and laughed his *ss off when he saw my hands.

a trick I learned from a detailer was to use bon ami as it won't scratch but will take off the tough haze and grime (outside and inside) then as others said use newspaper for final cleaning it won't streak. I also use wax, does wonders in the rain, at 55 you won't even need the wipers on.

I don't know if it is complicated or not, I just didn't know there was so many ways to do it. I think there are more ways to clean windows than there are home remedies for the common cold. I am sure they all work well or they would not have been recommended.
