Stance (Tire size)

This is kind of abstract and probably not as straight forward as I would like it to be, but I really want my Cutlass to have the same stance as this 442. Anyone have a similar look or an idea of how to get it?
Thanks in adavance,
from the Newbie

I like that stance too. I can observe at least two things going on here.

Tires- they appear to be two different sizes. Larger width in the back a little narrower up front. I cant tell for sure the wheel size, but probably at least 14'' but maybe 15". The backs might be 235-245-60 series on an 8'' wheel. The fronts more like 205-215 70 series on a 7" wheel. There abouts- I'm just guessing here.

Ride Height- probably in the spring rate choice. This car might have air shocks but I think its mostly a stiffer spring perhaps cargo coils or station wagon springs in a coupe. Its riding higher than my stock car by at about an inch.

those look like 275 60R15 rear and 215 70R15 fronts
15x8 or 9 rim rear (backspace about 3.5") see rims and tires close to wheel lip
15x6 or 7 rim front (std. backspace)

those backs are big as Scott says at least 275. One thing I have noticed is that you need a decent height tire to fill out these wheel wells. At one time I went with 245 60 14s all around and they looked dumpy, especially in the front

Hey dave, not related but the wing on the trunk of the green cutlass looks to be on backwards??
I'm not an aficionado by any stretch, just looks **** about to me.
Nice car though regardless and the red one in the first post, wish they weren't so rare here.

You are correct... you're not an aficionado.

Wyo,

Do not copy the one you pictured. Those tires will be shredded in no time. There is not enough back spacing on those wheels.

Dave, I think the air flows in the opposite direction down under so if you move to Australia your W30 will need this modification but your W31 car should be fine.

Wyo, the car you posted has the back lifted (taller springs, air shocks, etc) and a rim at least 15x8 with prob 3.5"-4.5" backspace, for a "Day2" look. I agree it looks like the tire is a 275/60
If you go with more backspace (5", 5.5") you can get a plenty big tire underneath without lifting the back.

Here are some old photos of my flattop when it was still in the bodywork phase. Apologies for the photo quality.. The rear tires are 295/50 r15 on 15x10" SSIII, and the front are 216/65 r15" on stock 15x7" SSIII wheels. This car also has 2" drop spindles on the front in addition to the difference in tire diameter. I have these wheels listed for sale on another thread.
