Started losing refrigerant so put dye in and see it is coming out of the top of compressor Can that be fixed or do I need to just get a new one? See pictures.
See dye with light. It is all the way around. Will last about 4 days before getting hot.

Ill assume this is a 69 Cutlass or 442?
These pumps are bullet proof.
Always rebuild the parts on your car. Do not buy remanufactured parts; then turn yours in for cores...never ever.
Does the air work?
Did you try tightening the high/low manifold on the back of the pump? Check the POA valve nuts. Dont over tighten things.
Are the High/Low line pressures in spec after its recharged?
Call or search classic auto air or vintage auto air. I used classic and was pleased but that was 20+ years ago. Do some homework.
If you want to do it right so it goes another 1/2 century have the system pulled down (needs to be anyway to replace o rings). Replace the filter, dryer, the oil and all the o rings in the system. Have the dryer rebuilt. Inspect the clutch. I may need to be rebuilt. I doubt the compressor needs rebuilding, but cant hurt to ask that question,
Inspect the lines. If they look cracked have them rebuilt, they are 55-56 years old.
These vendors will cut off the factory fittings and weld them on to new rubber hoses if the original factory look is important.
If you decide to convert to R134a now is the time, You will need different material o rings and oil. Send in the POA to be bench adjusted to work with the R134a. The orifice pressure needs to be adjusted to compensate for the difference between R12 & 134a.
