DIY A/C System Flush

This weekend I'll be renting an A/C system flush tank for a DIY A/C system flush. So far it's been suggested I use either alcohol, acetone, brake cleaner fluid and of course A/C system flush fluid. This will be to just flush the condenser and evaporator, all other parts are either new or resealed. Any suggestions, pros or cons would be appreciated, thanks.

I just use these aerosol cans from NAPA. No rental or other tools required.

I've never heard of this stuff. Very nice, indeed.

I haven't seen these before, do you use 1 or 2 cans for the condenser and evaporator?

Typically I use two, one for the evaporator and one for the condenser. It has a fresh citrus scent.

Once I flush the components, I make sure to blow the residue out with my air hose.

I’ve always poured isopropyl alcohol into the lines/condenser/evaporator and then blown out with high pressure air until it is purged clean. After reassembly be sure to put a liberal vacuum on the system to boil out all of the residual alcohol and moisture. We’ve done the same at my work on corporate sized aircraft but with the exception that we fabricated a pressure pot to apply the alcohol under pressure. I don’t do it enough at the house to justify the tool, but it works very well.
