A/C compressor replacement retrofit

I have a '77 and want to put the A/C back in it. The original A6 giant compressor is fried. Is there a lighter alternative? Has anyone retrofitted a lighter Sanden compressor with a V-belt?
thanks

A/C compressor replacement

What car? What engine? Old Air Products, Ft. Worth, Tx, has sanden-type brackets for 455, I know. Probably has them for 350 also.

Four Seasons P/N 58098 is a brand new, lightweight version of the A6 that should bolt right up to the original brackets. The only issue is that the mounting bolt holes are probably metric threads. $235 at Rockauto.
