Best door wx strip

Im looking for your opinions on the best weather strip for the doors or weather strip in general. I used soft seal on my doors and while it seems to fit fine, it definitely makes the door sit a bit high after closing. I'm thinking it needs to give a bit more or be softer. The door was perfect before install. I've heard The parts place makes a pretty good reproduction for this reason. Anyone have experiences with theirs?

Most aftermarket parts vendors do not make their own weatherstrip, they just resell from the main suppliers. Steele Rubber, Sofseal, and Metro are the big three manufacturers. I've had good luck with Steele. All new weatherstrip will be tight until it has time to compress. That's the nature of the beast.

Scrappie I too replaced the weather strips on my car (Steele). When the job was finished I rolled the windows up, slammed the doors and trunk shut, and didn't open them again for about 3-weeks. I'm very satisfied with the results. The doors and trunk open and close as they should.

I know you are methodical as you reassemble your car, but is it possible you have worn hinges since the new weather strips cause a door to sit out of alignment, or possibly hinges or a door catch not torqued properly?
