71 Cruise Vacuum Diagram

Does anybody have the vacuum diagram for factory cruise in a 71 Cutlass 350. I just ordered the assembly manual, but would like to finish this up this week, then I'm not even sure that it is in the manual. Appreciate any help.

I think I saw it in my 72 assembly manual. Not sure if it would be the same but my guess is it would be. I'll take a look this evening and see. I would be interested when you get yours working! My 72 came with the cruise control set-up but it was hooked up. I hooked everything up and checked all the electrical connections, took it out for a test drive, hit the cruise button and the thing took off like a bat out of hell! Just kept accelerating. Drove her home with my tail between my legs, Looked it all over a second time, tried it again with the same results! Figured it must be the cruise control transducer so I bought a rebuilt one. Was all excited the day it came and installed it right away and hit the road. Hit that cruise button and AGAIN, took off like a bat out of hell. It was like I slammed the pedal to the floor. So if you get yours working I would be interested in comparing notes to try and figure out what's wrong or what I screwed up with my set up. I'll take a look for the vacuum diagram and get it over to you. There wasn't much to it, but then again mine doesn't work.......

Here's a '71 schematic, had it for another thread here, if you don't have A/C and the vac tank you just eliminate that T.

Looks like my 72 diagram is a bit different? Maybe there's a clue there? My transducer looks more like the one in the 71 diagram?

mmcilroy, there are BIG differences between the 71 and 72. Comparing the two diagrams show the differences.
In 72 a new system was introduced and used for quite a few years after.
I do not think the parts are interchangable, but who knows...
So your new transducer looks like the 71 one?

Thanks for the additional info, The guy I brought mine from assured me it was the correct one for my 71, and it does match the one in the 71 diagram. Guess I was lucky as I was not aware that the 72 was different. Guess you do learn something new everyday.

Thanks Bcracing,

Here are some old pictures before I started to take things apart. The transducer looks like the 71 assembly manual picture and the servo looks like the 72, must make for a bad combo? Since I have tested everything per the manual, switches and vacuum line. It might just be that I bought it with some parts the previous owner tried and couldn't get to work either. I'll watch the eBay listing; if it goes for a reasonable price I'll give it a shot.

Thanks!

That looks like the right one for a '72, pretty nice.
It's funny how all the ones on Rockauto are the older style?
I guess they do work as a service replacement?

There should be another "T" in that one line and a hose going to the open fitting on the side of the transducer. What was going to the open fitting?
If it was hooked up like that with a vac line going to that fitting it may take off like a bat out of a furd on contact?
The cruise linkage lever roller seems far away from the throttle lever, should be a .40 to.60 gap at slow idle.
Is that transducer NOS? I like the finish and sticker.
It's the three wire type so it won't work for me if you threw it in the trash and I grabbed it out of your dumpster on the curb.

That brass side vac fitting is turned to calibrate the transducer.
