Sorry. I thought it copied my description of my car. I have a 69 Cutlass S Holiday Coupe without a B post. Thank you for the update on the window felts but I was meaning the rubber seal the the window closes on when rolled up. Mine are bad and have small pieces missing. Are they glued on or held with clips or what?
Thank you for the update. I'm still trying to find out how the rubber door seals are attached to the car, not the door. They are the ones that seal the window closed when the door is closed and it keeps the water out
Its called a roof rail weather seal. Google & YouTube are your friend both on where to buy it and maybe an installation video?
Cliff note version:
Purchase a GM A body Fisher manual and an AIM manual for your car. You'll thank me later.
You remove the old rubber by pulling it out. Use a wood strip to scrap out the remains. The glue may be stubborn. A heat gun will help.
The chrome is held in with screws. It has strip calk between it and the roof. You dont need to remove that if your not painting the car.
The metal quarter window guide attached to the chrome along the roof has a plastic coating over metal. The roof rail tucks behind it. If its shot I think reproductions are out there. But that necessitates chrome trim removal to get access to drill out the rivets. If the metal is OK I use black plasti-dip on it. Several coats replicate the factory look. Thats if the metal is not rotted. Clean it well.
Run a small amount of black weather strip glue into the channel and fit the rubber back into the chrome rail. I usually do a dry fit first then glue it.
