1973 350 rocket rods install
Is there a certain way to install piston and rods in the motor. Beside the arrow on the piston. When i went to install piston and rods today they keep binded up when i free spin the motor with the piston rods installed. But if I only have the crank in it will turn with out problems. What might i be doing wrong? Toque the connected rods bolts to 42 ft lbs. If i losen it up to 30 ft lbs turn freely
.030 pistons. Stock rods. I had the rods press in the piston at the machine shop.

There is usually a large chamfer on one side of the crank end of the rod. These have to face the throw of the crank. Orient them this way. If the arrows are facing the wrong way on some of them. Then your machine shop installed them incorrectly.
