1940 olds series 90 fuel tank questions

Hi all. New member and new owner of a 1940 series 90. Car has been sitting in a garage since 2005. I dropped the fuel tank this morning and its in good shape but it has a ton of rusty crud inside it. I will try my best to clean it but I may be looking for a new tank. My question to all you fine people is; where can I find a replacement fuel tank for the 40 series 90? Some searching on google has not yielded me any results yet. Just curious if anyone has a line on one in case this one doesnt work out?

Car was 350sbc swapped somewhere in the 80s and has a 12v sending unit in it. not sure if its the original tank or not. The filler tube sits kind of down inside the fuel door opening, not flush.

Any and all help is appreciated.

What I did on a 37 was find a similar tank dimension wise that had a filler tube close to the same physical location. I cut the filler tube off leaving enough room to mate the old neck to the new tank with a rubber hose and clamps. Used straps that fit the new tank.

I also have a 90 coupe and had an incredibly badly corroded and damaged fuel tank. Finding an original replacement in serviceable condition would be a near impossibility at this point. You could potentially modify a tank to work with your car. I opted to use the Tank Renu process offered by a radiator shop in Houston. The tank is straightened, cleaned and coated with a heavy coating that is impervious to fuels (including ethanol). I've been pleased with my results for about ten years now and was able to retain the factory tank. Somewhere between 5-$600 Good luck Pictures??
