Sounds like it sold, but in any case, that rear housing is not correct for a 1969. The 1969 open face alternators used a housing with a nearly flat boss for the threaded hole. The 1970-71 open face alternators used a housing with the raised boss like the one for sale in this thread. Note that the location of the hole is different, as are the locations of the "BAT" lettering and the "1" and "2" under the plug.

I would consider selling a correct '69 back cover but only if it was part of a resto/rebuild I did on the rest of the alternator. I have a spare '69 back that has one crack in it that I will get professionally TIG welded and I'll do the cosmetics on the repair.

The price for the back half won't be "cheap"....I paid good money for it and have to pay the TIG guy as well.....then there's the rarity.

I'll mull it over and you can mull over whether or not the guy will send the rest of his alternator here for restoration.
