Exclamation 1970 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS 396 (REAL DEAL)

Here's the real deal, done right.

"PRICE REDUCED" for this "Beautiful" 1970 SS396 * This SS396 has been documented by GM of Canada as being the "Real Deal" * Built on January 23, 1970 at the Oshawa, Ontario plant & sold new at Ed Smith Chevrolet Oldsmobile in Port Jervis, NY
* 25,938 built for U.S. sale in Canada
* This SS396 is 1 of 3,306 w/ both the Z-25 & L-34 350hp option
* Its also 1 of 1,750 built w/ ZL-2 functional cowl induction - which makes this SS396 quite rare
* Other options include:
*A01 Tinted glass all
* A51 bucket seats
* B96 Wheel opening moldings
* D88 Body stripe
* F41 Firm ride & handling package
* G80 Limited-slip differential
* G94 3.31 rear axle gearing
* JL2 Front disc brakes
* J50 Brake booster
* M20 Wide ratio 4-speed
* PL4 F-70 White letter tires
* UM1 Am 8 Track radio
* U76 Windshield antenna.

In 2009-2010 this SS396 received a very high quality "Frame Off Rotisserie" restoration with over $70,000 in receipts to back this up. It received "Full" NOS quarters, fenders & door skins. It's got a Goodmark non-flipper hood, trunk drop-offs & outer wheel houses, Goodmark inner fender wells & radiator support and the original trunk & floors were excellent. The color was changed slightly from code 75 Cranberry to code 78 Black Cherry using only PPG products. The main focus was to have a super solid all metal body that would last for a long time. Its laser straight & has an outstanding show car shine.

During this frame off restoration, the frame was completely powder coated and all of the steering parts are Moog & TRW. Larger sways bars were added up front & rear for that ultimate handling. And all new coil springs were added too. The car really drives & handles far better then when it was new. There will be NO disapointments here, never happen.

As with the exterior, the interior is "All" brand new. And the color was changed from basic Black to a "Fantastic Pearl" White that really sets off the Black Cherry outside. A brand new console was added & a new reproduction Am/Fm radio and brand new 6x9 rear deck speakers were added too. (also have original Am 8 Track if so desired). The Rally gauge cluster was sent out & reconditioned & works perfect. A new Munice shift handle was added to a brand new Hurst competition plus shifter & linkage for the correct factory look(chrome **** included)

Engine is a professionally rebuilt period correct 396 AKA 402cu. Have all machine shop paperwork, everything all written down for next owner. "Day 2" parts include Ceramic coated headers, Edelbrock intake, Larger cam & lifters with upgraded ignition & engine dress up kit. This engine purrs when it needs to and GROWLS when you stomp on it.

The transmission was professionally rebuilt & switched in flavor of a Munice M21 close-ratio(have the M20 if so desired). The G80 rear end was totally rebuilt and a new set of 3.31 gears were added. Other "Day 2" parts include a 3" exhaust with electric dump cut-out, full 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers, 3" mantle bend tail-pipes with GM style stainless steel exhaust tips.

Factory Air-Condition was added to this already magnificent car during restoration & blows "Ice-Cold" * New 4 core radiator & never runs over 200 degrees even on the hottest of days. Included in the sale is a full set of factory date coded 14x7 Sport rims & new F-70 Firestone Wide Oval RWL polyglass tires(Corvette rallies pictured could be exchanged if so desired). Less then 1,000 miles since restoration completed.
