I have no clue what block this is. But I'm almost sure this is a 6 speed Tremec T56.... I also see that it needs rewiring at least under the hood, around the tranny and probably the dash. Instruments are modded, but overall my colleague likes it fast, manual shifted, simple and loud - the Impala seems to be his style 100%

Car was rebuilt by a local US shop some years ago, "got everything": HEI, rods, pistons, carb etc.

Was used for a season (1 year) of non-pro speed hill climbing and non-pro orientation rallys, was maintained by a crew of mechanics during that season.

Current owner has too much money and zero car knowledge (or at least pretends so), he wants to "move on to something more comfortable".

Floor without carpet looks OK from inside and outside, paint is chipped in a few places, stickers can be peeled off.

Does anybode see something special in the ad and the pics below? Does anybody have a clue what block/manifold this is? I'm trying to get as much info as possible until Sat.

I don't think that's burned flesh...or brain on the exhaust pipe. It looks like your typical burned shopping bag from your favorite big box store.

The engine looks like what we call a crate motor. Your basic small block chevy. The intake could be a performer RPM,but there is a heat shield, so that covers up some identifying markings.It doesn't look like its been in the car for very long time. Looks pretty new.

Transmission I have no idea, but appears to be a late model or new style.

The master cylinder looks a little slimy but not bad. Manual brakes, no power assist. Appears a hose is missing on the driver side valve cover. Other hoses and belts look good.

 

$20,000 for that sort of a car is too much. It doesn't even have a big block and it seems sehr verbastelt. Better to spend that money overseas and ship the car home in a container

You can do so much better, even in Europe. Even for a Chevy.

 

With those pics shown imo not worth the asking price.

 

those cars go for $1,500-$3000 running and rust free in California.
