When I'm not thinking about Oldsmobiles I help maintain some other cars. One such car is a 1954 Ford Mainline. The 54 has a 6-volt electrical system. We just replaced the distributor with a 1957 style distributor, which had the condenser already installed. 1957s had 12-volt systems. Do I need to retrofit the distributor with a 6-volt condenser?
