Will SBC and tranny clear all at once with crossmember?

My crossmember is welded to my 3 inch dual exhaust so I cannot move it. My question is can I drop the engine and transmission in as 1 unit with the crossmember in place? I have a small Chevy with a turbo 350 transmission, I will be using a cherry picker in my driveway. Thanks for your help.

You should be able to drop engine and trans as a unit. Why not cut off the offending welded peices and do it right?

The way it is done is the crossmember has a big peace of pipe welded into it that the exhaust pipe runs through, and it is also welded through. I am going to add a set of cats on it eventually and at that point I will change the exhaust around a bit. When I did it I did not know that they made a crossmember for dual exhaust, I am going to install one when I change it over.

It has always had a TH350, I just wanted to let everyone know what I was running to get an idea of the overall length.

Should clear no problem.

If I were you, I would remove the nose and raditior support before doing the swap. That's what I'm going to be doing when I do my swap

Unless the grill and core support is removed its going to be next to impossible to get it in there with the crossmember in place.

Just fit.

Thanks guys it went in. The engine and transmission measured 59 inches and the crossmember was 62 inches from the radiator support. It did not get any tighter than that.
