LS in a 72 Cutlass wagon

Cheapest way is find used tank setup that works with a metal tank before they all went to plastic tanks. Look at trucks early 4gen f-body ect. Cut the top of the tank out and fabricate / weld to the top of your tank.

Is the wagon tank a tall one mounted in the rear quarter?
You may be able to use a stock GM pump if the wagon is the correct depth and there's a flat spot on the top to mount it. Vetteworks makes a mounting ring and sells the f body pump assembly, no regulator required too.

And a variable height option, reasonably priced too.

LOVE this website. You guys rock. If this hurdle can be overcome without costing an arm and a leg then I may need to go ahead and do the swap. Fuel injected family hauler is sounding sweet. Just time consuming saving for all the parts. Thanks for the help.

I wanted to update this just in case others can use the info. It will be awhile before I decide exactly what I want to do. I may do a 455 with EFI or just get it going with a factory correct 455 or an LS swap. Anyway I found this: http://www.jefflilly.com/gallery/hot...-tank-mod.html
Not sure what model of Camaro they used for fuel pick up and pump.

If the tank is tall and narrow, you could use an external pump with the original pickup.
I'm running that setup on my 68 vette with no starvation issues even below 1/4 tank.
The flat wide tank in my 72 Olds is a different matter. Definitely need a sump there.

It's an issue if you mount the pump high, you need to mount the pump below and as close to the tank as possible. Then it's just a siphoning effect. You'll still need a regulator and return line.
I will say I prefer intank pumps since the fuel cools them.
