Anyone know this Pontiac Warning? (picture)
I have a 2001 Montana and I thought it was low coolant, not according to the manual. The manual doesn't show this symbol, so I thought it might be on other GM products that someone happens to know what it means. It shows up on the "Message Centre". I thought it could also be low engine oil, but again, not according the owners manual. Any help is appreciated.
PS. The Montana is the Canadian version.

what in the SAM hell is that. i think it means she is ready to blow lol. it is the low brake fluid light i have jumped threw some other forums. and they say is a venture and Montana thing but no one has it in there manuals either. most said there front pads were wore down to were they were just low on fluid. check the master cylinder and add a little if needed then you may want to inspect your brakes and see if its time for some replacements. hope this helps

It's definitely something to do with brakes.
My BMW has brake warnings that feature a circle with two curved "brake shoes" on the outside like that (never mind that brake shoes go on the INSIDE, or that the car has discs all around...).

Looks like tire treads. Snow tire treads maybe? Who knows.
This is why I hate these ridiculous pictures instead of just wording.
I rented a car once with 6 different pictures on the headlight switch, only one I knew for sure what it was (off). So much for those manditory daytime headlight sections cause I could not figure out what was on!
Nope, no manual in the car, either.

Thanks bulldog. ABS is out. The ABS light is on but it hasn't affected drivability. So I won't be looking at it in -30c temps. I'll wait for the summer. As far as I know the van doesn't have the TC option unless it's part of the ABS system. There is no TC button like on the Intrigue and Aurora. I have a feeling it's low on brake fluid. I'll check that tonight and see if that's it. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I had traction-control & ABS lights on 02 Monte Carlo. Two bad wheel bearings. Now on again, probably the other two now. Rob, you're right about the $ bills fluttering away. $300 for parts, $200 labor.

ABS / Traction lights would come on in heavy slush, then go off a day or two later. Then a week or two. Then they just stayed on.
In the spring, I pulled the codes, then pulled the wheels and inspected.
Turned out to be a bad sensor. Changed it and no more problems.
... So it wasn't really the ice, like I thought it was, but that pointed me to the bad sensor

There has been an issue on the early 2000's GM's with the ABS sensor WIRING from the body to hub harness. The get loose and rub the CV joint. It will also effect your traction control.

the abs sensors on this one are built inside the front wheel bearings easy to change out. just 100 bucks a side did you get a chance to see if the brake fluid was low.fun part is what wheel bearing sensor is out need to find some one local that has abs on there scan tool save you money over changing out both front hub assemblies

i remember having that light on my pontiac. ABS / Traction lights would come on in heavy slush, then go off a day or two later. Then a week or two. Then they just stayed on. you can ask Pontiac repair questions about it. They can guide you with that.

Just an idea,
some of the trucks in our fleet at work have had problems with the ABS lights going on,the mechanic just cleans the sensors and they are good until they get dirty again.
Maybe just a good cleaning is in order.
