I want to start by saying, the picture really does this car justice. Honestly the car is in pretty good shape. I bought it in 2019.. Been working as a Contractor over the past years spending a lot of time in Iraq, Africa and plenty of other places. I'm back home and I want to do a Full off the frame restoration for this baby here. I'm sticking with the same color. The top is new, recently replaced that. Tires are new, found the wheels on Facebook lol. My main reason for this post is to get a bit of advice. Like I said, I'm going to do a total off frame restoration. I plan on putting this motor in the car ( hope the picture shows). Can you guys point me in the direction for the best rear-end, breaks, control arms, suspension and whatever else I may possibly need to ensure the car can handle this power and ride smoothly. Also, no, I'm not building a race car, but I do want the power, speed and everything else that comes with it. Better to have than not to have. lol. This will most likely be a cruising and car show type of car. Thanks in advance for the tips and recomendations.
If you can afford that engine, just go with a roadster shop chassis and be done with it. They will build you a frame with brakes, suspension, rear end, and can set it up so the motor will be a direct bolt-in. You can even go full IRS or cantilevered. You will probably be able to get a full pro-touring engineered frame/ suspension for less than the cost of that motor that will out perform anything you can do to your original frame.
