350 with 700R4

HELLO new here...just picked up a 72 Cutlass with a 350 Chevy and a 700R4 trans .. it came without a drive shaft ..has anyone done this swap ... just wondering do I order a drive shaft made up for this (I have Denny's drive shafts nearby he's good but $$) or is there a cheaper solution ..thanks

Welcome to the site. I'd call Denny's and ask him how he wants you to measure to determine length. I purchased a new shaft for my car and it cost under $300, balanced, with new u joints, I supplied the yoke.

Another thing

You can try a Junk yard drive shaft. I personally have used astro vans and s-10 drive shafts and shorten them. We have drive line shops that can cut the drive shaft down and re-balance for 75.00
AGAIN ask your drive line shop how to measure the space/ gap between the trans and the rear end yoke so you both match up or you will be sorry. Seems everyone has a way to measure this distance and reference point. Jim
