Replace gearbox
1966 olds 98 convertible
need to replace the gearbox since its worn and would like something that will turn lock to lock in less than 3 1/2 turns
rock auto has a lot of them and i was reading that a Jeep Cherokee might work with a Lee's adapter
Lee's can rebuild it but they want $295 to do so and another $130 to do the pump, if they dont rebuild the pump you don't get a 1 year warranty
thanks

I just had mine rebuilt with added quick ratio.....put it in my '67 Delta. Chip at Power Steering Services. He is a great guy to work with, although not lightning fast. Just installed it, haven't had the chance to test drive yet....

I got the rockauto quickratio, comes w a new rag joint, yr warenty and uses original hoses no adapters....under $200 after core return. Im very happy w the feel of it I have about 1000 miles on it , the first couple hundred miles it was too tight I talked to the rebuilder (lares) and they advised putting a couple more miles on it, I did and now it feels perfect. this is in a 72 cutlass dont know if they offer the same for your car

A '93-'98 Jeep Grand Cherokee box should work fine, but I am not sure about whether the stops would be right.
The JGC box definitely works fine on A-bodies and on '71-up B- and C-bodies.
