I own a 1969 Olds 98 Luxury sedan with an 455cui high compression engine.
Bought the car last year with a lot of problems.
I already overhauled the TH400, did a LOT of wiring work and recently rebuilt the engine because Pistons Cyl 3,5 were broken and also their piston rings.
Now to the problem.
The car is equiped with an Edelbrock 1411. And I am looking for the ports where distributor and transmission vacuum hoses are installed.
Right now the distributor is installed on the Edelbrocks driver sides port and transmission on the very first port on the intake manifold. I also have the original Olds 1969 service manual, but it doesn‘t help me here.
I also have the thermic vacuum switch on the manifold if it helps to sort out my problem.
So if you have pictures or info, it would help me out very much.
The car also doesnt feel that strong as I would have it.
Its very tired from the start, at higher rpm and kick down it accelerates very good.
Timing is fresh adjusted.
Thanks for the help and sorry for the long text😅😅.
This should help. Note the vacuum line to the carburetor is ported vacuum (above the throttle plates…no vacuum at idle.) Also, the manifold vacuum line to the trans is “T’d” to the thermal vacuum switch. Hope this helps, Dave
