molding bent
molding bent
hi,
i have a 76 98. While pulling it into a new storage garage, i got too close to the side of the garage and bent the end of the side molding out - the silver strip on the side that runs the length of the car. Are these difficult to find and replace or can i repair the damaged one?
Thanks.

The piece is stainless steel. If it's not torn it can be restored but takes a lot of time and patience. What's also important is whether you damaged the side metal and clip that holds the molding onto the car. Don't know if they're difficult to find but I can point you to a guy who knows; his name is John and he's into the big Ninety Eights like yours in a 'big' way.

use body hammers or a pick hammer carefully deep side first and work your way out carefully then really polish it if the piece is not mangled or torn. also consider double sided tape and use acording to the directions to apply.
i have this forum post https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...australia.html
Im in tricky situation as i live in Australia and parts for a 76 98 is beyond anything to find here. John told me to contact you regarding parts. I have a red interior (mahogany as John told me) the rear left is good but the rest not soo good. Im also in need of chrome moldings for windscreens front and back and also the one the sits on top of the side windows on the right side as a tree fell on my car
Im also in need of a rear right window regulator and a door latch lock mechanism for the rear left door.Any help would be so greatful!
