headers on a ninety eight(?)

Hi, Im new here (newbie forum) and i've a question.
I wonder if its possible to install headers on my 1970 98 coupe.
I bought hooker headers but they didn't fit because the steering box. (actually the pitmanarm was the problem, i could only drive in a straight line)
A lot of people say why on a cruiser. Because i don't want to sell my car, it since 1999 in the family. The plan is to fit new edelbrock heads and intake. Also i change the camshaft and distributor.
In Holland is gas 9 dollars a gallon, so i make a conversion to propane.
thats 2,80 dollars a gallon (nearly all the stations supply it). I want to install a dual impco 425 set.
So i think it would be logical that i fit headers. But witch ones?
Or is it not possible?

Hi DUTCH'98: Welcome to the Classic Oldsmobile Forum!

Olds67 is our friend from Italy. He installed headers on his 1967 Delmont 88. He had lots of problems fitting the headers on the driver's side, but after some custom bending, he was able to use the headers that he purchased. Here is a link to Olds67's build... https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...mont-88-a.html

You might also want to check out a Thornton manifold. Mr. Thornton manufactures a reproduction exhaust manifold that will fit our 'B' Body Oldsmobiles. I purchased one from him two years ago. It fit perfectly.

Thanks Jaybird!

its or cutting and welding my hooker headers or buying the Thorton ones.
I've also heared about short headers..but i dont know if it was succesfully...
I think you still have to deal with the pitmanarm.
The problem in Holland is that i cant buy them anywhere to see if they fit.
More puzzling to do. But i've time to deside till summer. Now first building my house
Other ideas are still welcome!
