76 Olds 98 lower dash removal

I am trying to remove my lower dash assembly in my 76- 98, I have it all ready to take out and repair it only thing holding me up is the hood release control handle. It has a clip on the back of the handle to hold it in place but cant pull the dash piece out without removing the T handle. Does anyone know if the T handle is removable? I don't want to break it and hoping i don't have to pull the whole cable back through.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sure it's not the parking brake release handle? You should be able to pull the brake release cable out of the brake pedal assembly and remove the lower dash from the car.

Any time!🙂 I've had those lower dash panels off enough times that it's actually become simple.

Disconnect the cable from the parking brake assembly, remove lower panel with parking brake release in the panel. There is a clip holding handle assembly in the panel. Cable must be disconnected from parking brake ***. to remove handle.
