Just started looking over the big beast,was thinking of removing the body and clean and paint the frame started at rear bumper checked 1/4 panels and trunk removed trim from rear window found very little rust nothing that and little light sanding won,t remove.So tomorow I will crawl under it and check the frame/brake lines and fuel lines if frame and floor is good I will leave it and drive it this summer.I had I small fire in eng compartment and need to replace the ignition wires it has dist and points should I change it to Hei system, I just plan to use car for sunday driving dont need high preformance stock is fine.But will HEI help with starting smooth running.

I installed an HEI in my '69 98 and I was very pleased - I got a cheap-o from eBay for $50 or so. I also installed an electric fuel pump.

In fact, I still have an unopened one (I somehow bought two on mistake) for an Olds if you are interested.
