Thumbs up 1980 Oldsmobile 98 Regency 5.7L V8 350

I had bought this car back in April for a nice price of $600.00. This is my daily driver/ project. So far all that has been needed is a tune-up, motor mounts, heater control valve, EGR valve, winshield wiper motor, re-route the vacuum lines correctly, and an oil sending unit. This week I am replacing bulbs for the instrument panel and a blower control switch.

Nice car, has the engine been replaced?, I thought '80 and later models had the 307 motor. I think the 350 would make it noticeably more sprightly though.
Judging from the pics it looks like you got a good deal.

Welcome to C/O as well.

Roger.

The engine is original; I think around '83 they only used the 307, however I am not positive.

The 350 would have been an option ... with 1980 being last year you could get it.

1980 was also the 1st year for the 307.

The picture was taken the day after I bought the car. The car had an entire winter's season worth of snow on it and around it in the seller's back yard. We dug it out then towed it thru deep snow to the front yard where it started right up. After knocking the packed snow out of the wheel wells it had defrosted and was ready to roll. I was surprised how smooth it ran. Anyways the snow residue left on the car makes it look colder than it really was. Probably closer to a nice and toasty 28 degrees Fahrenheit.

You got a good deal my friend. I bought my '83 for $1250 and it wasn't quite as nice, mostly weathered. Gotta love the '80 only color schemes, caramel and brown.
