1960 Olds 98 Holiday Coupe 4 door
Have a chance to buy this car and it appears to be in good shape?
I am not sure about the coupe versus sedan. Aren't 4 doors sedans? Can a coupe be a 4 door?
What should I look out for?
It has a v8 394cid-315hp.
Any idea of value if in good condition?
Is the resale market strong?
Thanks all so knowledgeable!

A four door will be one of two things-
a Celebrity Sedan, with a B-pillar and full frames around the windows, or
a Holiday Sedan, with no B post or frames on windows- a four-door hardtop. In 1960, the Holiday Sedan roofline was flat with a big wraparound rear window. Very dramatically styled car.
The Holiday Coupe (2-door hardtop) and convertible are what's hot in 59-60 Olds pricewise but a nice sedan is still worth considering.

Wait'll you see the speedometer in action...
The Sixty was one of those years when a lot went right for Oldsmobile. Great space-age styling, outstanding performance with 394/Jetaway, and enough gadgets to run the space shuttle. I grew up with a 1960 Dynamic 88, and have always wanted another.
When the folks finally traded it in, my mama's argument was that not only was it the oldest Oldsmobile in her work parking lot, it was the oldest car, period. But she never did love her subsequent cars as much as she did her Sixty.

There is no 4 door coupe as said before there are the four door sedans which have the sloped roofline and pillars between door windows and the 4 door hardtops that are pillarless and give the virtually give you the full 360°view without blind spots they are called "Vista rooflines" that's the one I would buy. The value depends on really who wants one and how much they're willing to pay. I've seen fully restored Vista roofline hardtop sedans go for $12,000. Got pix? Well post them!
