Talking bumpers install

Hello All, I have a 1965 olds 98. I had the bumpers(front and back) removed to have rechromed. The person who removed the bumpers had a minor accident. Now ,I have new bumpers and not know how to install them back. All parts are there ,brackets bolts. does anyone have a schematic or pics or something that I can follow to reinstall my bumpers? I ask 2 shops and they want 300.00 to do this

Bumper install can be a real pain and you need to be sure to tape any painted body parts in the area to prevent chipping the paint. This is not brain surgery and you should be able to figure it out. The factory shop manual may show a picture of components and how they go on. It helps to have a helper too who can hold things in proper position while bolts are tightened.

Only thing that you should prioritize is installing any of the (tag and back up) lights and fillers before mounting the bumpers. IIRC there are also bumper fillers on the top edge of the upper bumper sides? I know Fusick has reproductions.

Chapter 15 in Chassis service manual. As said above install lights first. The front is a pain with the frame to bracket bolts. New bolts make job easier.
Bumper fillers are not available for the 65, at least I don't know of them.

Yes, they are. See my earlier post. Fusick sells them.

I saw it . They list it for a 64 rear bumper, but not a 65. Are they the same? They list the front for 65.

No, you're right. The 65 and 64 Ninety Eights are completely different on the back end. Sorry.
