decoding vin tag

Just joined a bit ago, stuck trying to find a good paper on de-coding my vin tag (on the Fire wall) for a 1967 Cutlass Supreme. I recently found the broadcast sheet when changing the gas tank (its in bad repair to say the least) any help as always is a step forward,
thanks guys

As Allan points out, that's the "cowl" tag. The VIN tag is on the driver's door pillar mounted vertically.

Further note. The Cowl tag will provide more information about the car than the VIN. Posting a picture of the cowl tag won't compromise the cars ownership either. Sometimes trying to describe the information on the older tags is harder than just seeing an image. There are 5 columns (that aren't really columns) used to describe various major options the car had installed by Fisher.

I made a basic VIN decoder for 65-72 years Oldsmobiles here:
http://www.oldsmobilecentral.com/vin-decoder.php

There is also another good Oldsmobile decoder here as well.

This is a great site for 67 specifics. Hope this doesn't get me in trouble.

Also I'm sure you can find the info here.

Uhhh, what is a Decorder?? You need to fix that on your Beta version, unless it was intentional??

The VIN decoders you guys listed are great for the VIN's but they don't provide all the necessary information about the cowl tags. Even the 67 CSM doesn't help decode the letters in the 1-5 columns. It does give RPO code breakdown, but that's about it.

I stare at computers to much, letters start to blend together. Fixed issue. Thanks

LOL, half fixed my friend. The one in the box with the Rocket logo is still a decorder...
