1955 Super 88 Front and Rear Bumper Assembly

Did a really stupid thing and didn't take pictures of my bumpers before I tore them down and sent them out for re-chroming. So now I have a pile of brackets, clips, and parts and don't know where they belong and to which bumper. Does anyone have pictures and/or assembly instructions for both bumpers. All the manuals I have seen are for 1954 and 1956.

Thanks

Royce

Here are some pics of the front - don't have anything for the back handy, but if you post pics of the brackets, I might be able to help you - I know what they look like if I see them.

Good to have you aboard.

I looked at the 1955 shop manual and it shows you nothing. If you can't figure your assembly puzzle from what Gordon has posted ( good work Gordon I never took pictures of that section of my car) your best bet would be to find a body assembly manual......Lost in the fifties.... Tedd

Nice to know Tedd about the 55 Manual, I almost was going to buy one to look. Trying to find one around my area in a salvage yard to go and remove then take pictures, just can't believe I can't find anything on the internet.

Rear bumper brackets

Do the brackets you have look like the ones in this ebay ad?

These are being sold by one of the members here, so if you need more details he may be able to provide them. I tried to take some pictures on my parts car but wasn't able to get good shots to show much. The long bars are horizontal and the ends attach to the bumper, the center to the rear frame crossmember. It looks like the short pieces attach to the bumper behind the bumper guards, and are attached vertically. Here's a few pictures that may or may not help! I'm laying down underneath the center of the bumper, so the first 4 pictures are where the drivers side bracket attaches near the center of the bumper. The last one is the drivers side bracket attached to the outboard corner of the bumper. Let me know if you have any questions about these shots. John
