'69 Cutlass S Convertible
'69 Cutlass S Convertible
Good morning fellow Olds fans. My name is Brian.....new to "Classic Oldsmobile" as I am the proud new owner of a 1969 Cultass S convertible. She was found in Plattsburgh NY for me by a great friend and fellow Olds fanatic and had been sitting in a barn since 1982. Needless to say she's a bit rough, but surprisingly solid. Lower quarters and parts of the floor pan and trunk are in need of some repair (thought just to do new fenders anyway), but the frame (a tad scaley) and rocker panels are solid as a rock. The seats and carpets had been removed.......I'm assuming it was because it was completely trashed, given evidence of raccoons living in the top, as it sat retracted. The drums were seized (freed by an extremely large flywheel puller) and every bit of rubber has disintergrated and fallen off, but I still see the hidden beauty. Anyway, it's great to be aboard and if anyone has suggestions about anything, I'm all ears. I'm in the process of building a garage to house her, so I haven't done much as of yet....but look forward to doing so. Enjoy a few pics!
As for parts...absolutely. There is a company by the name of Fusick's that has a store in East Winsdor...about a 45 minutes from me. They seem to have everything imaginable......with the exception of seats. Seat reupholstery kits yes, but I am in need of entire seats. I've kinda looked around on Craigs List and things like that, but no luck. Any ideas? Not something I need anytime soon, but if I could sind them now, I would get them.

I grew up in North Stonington and my girlfriend in college (UConn) was from Old Saybrook. I know Ivoryton well. I spent a lot of time down the street at Oliver's.
Ah...Oliver's. It was like a class reunion everytime you went there! Small world isn't it? Thanks for the info. When the time is right...when the garage is built, I will definitely post a "parts wanted" ad. Like I said....she is rough so I have a lot to occupy my time before I look for seats....lol. Thanks again for the info!!
